INVITED REVIEW: Brunch on Thursday Night @ 99 at Bistro

It’s was a lovely evening and we headed to Courtyard Marriott WTC (Abu Dhabi) in The Bistro for a dinner. That was Thursday and they call it Thursday Night Brunch at 99atBistro! Didn’t that make you think? I was and I kept on thinking actually why.

The Bistro is located on the first floor and it covers the whole floor. Which means it’s a spacious dining area. The center part is carpeted, and the tables are with sofas. There’s a private area on this restaurant too for people who want something like a meeting or small events/gatherings.

They have unique and elegant chandeliers, free wifi access and no need for access code. Names of the dishes were handwritten with a washable marker giving a personalization to it. A welcome drink is available nearby the cashier such as lemon & mint, and apple & cinnamon.

We were warmly welcomed by Anwer and he explained briefly to me the buffet and I took this chance to ask him as well about this concept of Thursday Night Brunch. I learned that since it’s the last day of the week and people sometimes are busy with their work and they’re missing the brunch time so they have combined this at Thursday night. What do you usually see during brunch? It’s the live cooking station! And they don’t only have 1 but 3! You heard me right. There’s live grilling station, live pizza station and live pasta station. Which are all my favorites. And on top of it the buffet price ranges from AED99 that’s why it’s 99atbistro. This fantastic International buffet starts at 7pm.

Food was under the control of the Executive Sous Chef, Chef Telsa from St. Kitts. He did the live grilling that night and they’re perfectly done. That’s the prawns, lamb kebab and shwish tawook. They’re finishing fast and it’s hard to catch them so they told they’ll put some on our table. Sweet! I requested a Carbonara from the live cooking pasta, surprisingly it’s very tasty and creamy. I have to ask for a small portion only because there’s a lot to try. I specifically mentioned mushrooms me broccoli to be added as well. So delicious! Fresh salads and seafoods are there, bread, Arabic dishes, Indian dishes, cheese station, Pizza and chicken fingers station, and of course the dessert. So many guests that night and I can see how they do enjoy the food as well.

Staffs were great and no doubt they do enjoy their work as well. You can see the smile on their faces and on how they approach you and attend on your table. We went back for a Friday brunch on this place so I’ll continue it on the next page Brunch & Beyond in The Bistro .

  1. Wow !! The brunch looks awesome. Hope I get a chance to come to Abu Dhabi and try it out. It is real value for money and so much on offer especially the seafood. I saw oysters in one of your pictures or did I make a mistake.
