INVITED REVIEW: A kind of Cityscape in Courtyard Marriott Abu Dhabi (WTC)

In the midst of the busy capital district of Abu Dhabi where the World Trade Centre is proudly standing that’s where you can locate the 4 star hotel, Courtyard Marriott (book here) which was built last 2014. It surely does have a great location ideal mostly for business people. It’s a 12-storey building (with 186 rooms/9 suites) interconnecting to World Trade Centre. Giving you a straight access to the mall from Fifth Street Cafe.

We were invited to have our weekend staycation here nearly 2 weeks ago. A very gentleman staff approached our car once we stopped on the entrance and helped us with our luggage. The car was sent for valet parking by them while we were in the process of checking-in. We received a warm gesture from the Reception and the itinerary of our stay was explained briefly by her.

We were escorted on our way up to 11th flr and it’s a corner unit. The staff was so kind enough to ask us if we need to have a tour around. Hubby went with him while I took the opportunity to have a close up look quietly. We were given a Standard King size room which is around AED525+ during peak season. Ideally for a single person or couples.

From the hall to the room it’s beautifully full-carpeted. Our room is having an amazing view of the World Trade Centre overlooking a sort of garden style on their rooftops. On one corner there’s a center table with complimentary fresh fruits and my new favourite, macarons in 3 flavours like strawberry, vanilla and chocolate.

We usually take our son to plunge into the pool once we arrived in the hotel however, the pool around 5pm got several guests already especially because it’s beside the lounge area. I recommend if you’re staying here as a family like us you can visit the pool preferably in the morning.

DINNER AT FIFTH STREET CAFE

20161111_184333.jpg
After settling our things and ourselves, we went for a dinner in Fifth Street Cafe in the lobby. Before that, we just tried to go to the World Trade Centre since there’s a direct access from there. To be honest, it was our first time to walk into this mall. I took my complimentary tickets from BU for Taste of Dhabi for the next day.

Back inside the cafe, they actually have different settings as  shown on the images below:

Since this is a cafe you can still request their breakfast menu for dinner aside from their specialties. They provided a complimentary candies like those gummy bears and sort of gummy donuts I guess (hahaha!). Me and Hamza ate them together while waiting for our food.

We had Eggs Avocado, poached eggs served on brown bread, avocado, shiso cress and cottage cheese. From the ingredients and the looks of it, you can say it’s a healthy dish. Well it’s absolutely good.

For Pan Seared Salmon they’re using a Norweigan Salmon steak on this. Served with roasted potatoes, spinach, pine nuts, cottage cheese and vierge sauce.

Lamb Sandwich is a charred lamb kofta, mixed lettuce, tzatziki sauce, feta and wrapped in zaatar bread served with french fries.

We had Peach & Mint, Lemon & Mint and Banana & Mango milkshake.

Junior  Chef, Chef Bhimsen headed to our table and greeted us with his warm smile. He offered us desserts and some ice cream also. Oreo cheesecake and Red Velvet cake with our favourite Capuccino was served together with the vanilla ice cream from Haagen Daz.

They serve good and healthy food here. It’s a place where you can find yourself comfortable with. Magazines and newspapers are available to read.

Bistro restaurant

Our breakfast the next day was in the 1st flr in Bistro. It was our 3rd time in this restaurant but first time for breakfast. The aroma of coffee bumped to my nose right away and I was like floating following this fragrance. A quiet environment, people are enjoying their breakfast while reading newspaper, some are having breakfast meeting and some are like us! Very noisy and always going around with a troublesome cute toddler😄.

I find their buffet which has a lot to offer and got a live cooking station for eggs. That could be sunny side up, scrambled or omelette of your choice.

Courtyard Marriott provides modern rooms and suites. It’s just 2 yrs. old and everything you can find still new. If you’re taking your friends or family here within the city, you got the right strategic place. It’s peak season now so if you want better plans for enjoyment make sure to make an advance booking/reservation here.

We just didn’t have enough time, but corniche area is just few minutes away from here. So don’t miss going there. A lot of things you can do in that area since it’s an open beach for public with great food stalls and other facilities.

Let me say staffs are great here! Very well-mannered and knowledgeable.

You’ll catch them on Facebook , Twitter  and Instagram for updated feeds about them and even for some competitions to win. For other related enquiries you can surf their website here or make you booking here.
