I’ve been busy for the past few months at work and hardly can find time to blog. I’ve missed lots of events and invites and even sharing some posts on my social media. Well it’s about priorities now!
Our dinner in Marasea restaurant in Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort and Spa was the ice breaker. We went there on a Friday night few weeks back. Marasea is more of an asian seafood type of restaurant. Still on the process of cultivating the best for their menu and it’s progressing.
The ambiance is sort of like you’re dining in a ship! You’ll see the edge look of the ship on the wall and the ropes that Hamza was playing and tried hanging like a monkey. The counter looks like you’re in a market and up for the freshest catch for the day.
A tank of live lobster was there and soon for the fish as well as mentioned by Mr. Nikhil, the Assistant Manager, who was kind enough also to give me full information about the restaurant’s mission.
For the meantime, they serve a 3-course set menu called Marasea Catch (AED138) which consists of Soup of the Day, Main Dish (either mussels, fish, clams, crabs, calamari, lobster or tiger prawns) that includes 2 side dishes and Dessert. This is what we opted. The Tom Yang Soup for the soup, Grilled Grouper (similar taste to hammour) with noodles and vegetables, Grilled Tiger Prawns with rice and vegetables and a choice of dessert that’s available from the trolley.
Well a complimentary snack (prawn crackers with chili sauce and chili paste) was served at first by Vishnu, he served us all throughout our dinner. Hamza absolutely loved this. He ate until the last piece with me!
I ordered something for Starters (Vegetable Spring Rolls) while we were waiting for the course to start. We were also recommended for their homemade juices that was served in a customised bottle. We tried the Lemon & Mint and Berries. They are done carbonated. (Refrain from shaking the bottle which I did! hahaha)
When you eat something again after a long time (not that much long) you really appreciate the taste of it. I love the Tom Yang soup (spicy) with some bits of seafood in it. The main dish was served! the grilled grouper and tiger prawns. In Marasea, main dish can be customised. It will be cooked and served just the way you want it to be. Taste delicious and delectable. Like you want more but you can’t anymore.
With the side dishes added to this main course, it’s absolutely a complete meal already! Then the trolley came with a selection of desserts. It was a good choice for me to take the Mango cheesecake. Very flavourful and it’s a no bake creation! Also we combined this part with a cup of capuccino which truly makes it absolutely a perfect ending!
Other options that you can try in Marasea aside from this 3-course set menu, is the Marasea Galore for AED299. A box filled of mix seafood items for 2 people and cooking can be customised as well. There is also the LIVE Lobster that is for AED210. You’ll get the Soup of the day, Main Dish is anything about the lobster, side dishes and dessert.
*Marasea is an arabic word for Marina Dock and it’s a modern approach for Sharjah’s fishing tradition and so for seafood dining experience.
