I visited Wagamama in their branch in Zero 6 Mall in Sharjah with my son last weekend. It’s a restaurant that serves Asian food. Take left upon entrance it’s is located on the 1st floor.
The restaurant has dining set-up outside too so that’s where we seated. There is open kitchen inside so you’ll be able to see what’s cooking. I looked for their summer package for kids which is FREE ice lolly for every kids’ main course. I chose the mini grilled chicken noodles set (it has dessert & drinks). This is perfect for him because Hamza loves noodles, chicken and corn.
I picked few items for myself such as the Firecrackers, Steamed gyoza, Duck lettuce wrap and Blueberry spice for drinks. Also, Mr. Hesham, the manager greeted us and gave his recommendations additional to the dishes I ordered.
Firecrackers (spicy) – a fiery mix of mangetout, red and green peppers, onions and red hot chillies, served with steamed rice, sesame seeds and sichimi and fresh lime. You can choose for either chicken or prawns for this.
Steamed gyoza – I opt for yasai (vegetables) served with sauce.
Duck lettuce wraps – shredded crispy duck with cucumber and spring onions. The lettuce helped to balance with the saltiness you’ll taste from the meat. So it’s a good combination.
Warm chilli salad (spicy) – stir fried red peppers, mangetout, tender stem broccoli and red onions on a bed of baby gem of lettuce dressed in a sweet chilli sauce, garnished with spring onions and cashew nuts. I used the lettuce to eat this like a wrap!
Beef tataki – lightly seared, marinated steak, thinly sliced and served chilled. Dressed with a citrus ponzu and Japanese mayonnaise and served with a side of pickled beetroot and coriander.
Suribachi chicken wings (spicy) – chicken wings in a spiced yakitori sauce, garnished with spring onions and mixed sesame seeds. This is crispy and you’ll really enjoy munching to it.
A meal is complete with dessert of course. I chose Lemon tart, with just enough sweetness to it served with a cherry sauce on the side to give a twist. I found mochi on the menu and I ordered it. I have tasted it once so I know for sure it’s good. Kids definitely will love too. It’s filled with flavored ice cream, the outer part gives a gummy texture.
All dishes were plated simple but beautiful enough for your eyes.
I enjoyed each dishes just like how our son with his meal. I don’t want to forget to mention about the chopsticks! Yes there is chopsticks for kids to use and no need to practice. Our son was able to use it on the spot and I guess that’s what made it more enjoyable for him to eat. So yes this is a kids friendly restaurant as they have several dishes under kid’s menu.
This free Ice Lolly is available both in Dubai and Sharjah branches however additional to this, in JBR and Palm Jumeirah branches for 2 adult’s main course, you get free side dish!
This is just the way to enjoy summer with Wagamama when you’re a foodie 🙂
